These 5 books are also known as the Pentateuch.
- Includes a Affidavit of Originality certificate of authenticity from a very well known (and highly respected) curator of ancient Bibles (see photo).
- Only THREE complete and intact copies of this printing have survived the ravages of time, flood, fire, politics, and war - which makes this a truly rare treasure indeed as stated on the COA that is included (see photo).- Being branded a heretic, many copies (if not most) of Martin Luther\'s first printings of the scriptures were ordered to be destroyed by fire thus contributing to the extreme rarity of this page/leaf. Making this a rare treasure indeed!- This page/leaf is a unique piece of ancient artwork that was carefully produced one-at-a-time by hand (using a movable-type press) and was printed on durable 100% rag cotton linen sheet (not wood-pulp paper like books today). This is why it is still in excellent condition after nearly 500 years, and will remain in excellent condition for generations to come if properly protected.- The 1523 Martin Luther Old Testament does not have any numbered verses, and it is written in ancient German. For this reason, we are not able to tell you what specific scripture passage is found on this page/leaf with certainty. However, we can tell you what book this page/leaf most likely comes from: “Das Vierdt Buch” Means “The Fourth Book\" and “Mose” means “Moses”. Based on what is known of the ancient German language, this page is most likely from \"The Fourth Book of Moses\" which is the Book of Numbers.- The page/leaf measures approximately 4\" X 6\" and is slabbed in a heavy protective acrylic display case that is approximately 1 inch thick and 5\" X 7\" and is held together by powerful magnets. Also comes with a very sturdy protective storage/gift box (see photos).- Condition is considered EXTRA FINE for the time period the page/leaf was printed (almost 500 years ago).
- The margins are COMPLETELY INTACT and there are NO TEARS AND NO REPAIRS that have been made to this page/leaf, making it a truly rare treasure indeed!
