The Crescent Macaroni and Cracker Co. located in Davenport, Iowa has a few interesting historical notes.Before becoming a pasta making factory, it served as Iowa’s military headquarters during the Civil War. It became a pasta making company in 1894 and when it opened, it was one of the first pasta making factory in the US and the largest in the world. Operated right up to 1988.
The is a rare postcard from circa 1910 of the factory that gives a good idea of just how large it was. Fun they added steam trains, a streetcar, people and horse & buggies in the surrounding foreground and background.
Great condition - great color, no creases or tears - just a minor issues on the corners and light marks on the back.
