SUPERRARE c1892 EDISON MIMEOGRAPH TYPEWRITER ADVERTISING NOTICE WITH RARE SILVER INK - PROFESSIONALLY ARCHIVALLY FRAMED
THIS MASTER WORK OF ADVERTISING ART AMAZINGLY IS PRINTED WITH ACTUAL GILT SILVER INK ALONG WITH THE USUAL STANDARD BLACK INK!
THIS ACTUAL NOTICE MEASURES 16 3/8\" x 11\" in size and is around 125 years old This item was framed in Highland Park, NJ which is only 29 miles away from West Orange NJ - where the typewriter was made at Edison\'s laboratory and factory located there - and thus was found in the area of where the advertising notice originated.
An advertising notice printed on thin light blue paper with special silver ink - released as a folding circular for promotion of the EDISON MIMEOGRAPH TYPEWRITER release. The EDISON TYPEWRITER was apparently made available in THREE (3) DIFFERENT DISTINCT MODELS - including;MODEL NO. 1 - English Only - 78 Characters - priced at $22.00
MODEL NO. 2 - English - 86 Characters - priced at $25.00
MODEL NO. 3 - English, French & German Combined - 90 Characters - priced at $25.00
This advertising notice is very significant in that it succinctly reveals that the EDISON MIMEOGRAPH TYPEWRITER was offered in THREE (3) DIFFERENT DISTINCT MODELS at certain distinct price points and such data may very well never have been known to collectors.
As these EDISON TYPEWRITERS are so rare, that one or two of the THREE different models that apparently were manufactured may never have ever been found and come down to be accounted for. A brochure for the EDISON MIMEOGRAPH TYPEWRITER may not be known to even provide these interesting details, which may, to date - not to have been known.
THIS ADVERTISING NOTICE MAY IN FACT BE THE ONLY EXTANT EXAMPLE REMAINING AND SUCH A COPY MAY NOT EVEN BE AT THE EDISON HISTORIC SITE IN WEST ORANGE, NJ - OR AT THE SMITHSONIAN INSTITUTE!
Wear, imperfections and mild stains to paper are evident of and consistent with age and use. It is amazing that this example has survived in such amazing condition. This EDISON ADVERTISING notice was found expertly preserved in this amazing frame and cover glass as is shown herein. The back panel can easily be lifted away by easily undoing the pivoting retainer tabs as shown. We have NOT TAKEN the assembly or back apart! As one can see, the notice is only slightly hinged in certain points underneath and is not in any way glued down to any backing board. It was all archivaly framed with the full edges showing - with a full 1/4\" SURROUND space from the inner matte edges. THE FULL NOTICE IS DISPLAYED AND VIEWABLE.Please see all photos, as theyare part of the description.
