1959 he was director of the art book publisher Iris. In 1950 he was given

a teaching position professor in Bern in

1955 , and was President of the Swiss Writers' Association from 1953

to 1967 . His best-known writings include Die Moralkrise as a human problem (1957)

and The threatened human being (1959); With them he made

a significant contribution to the intellectual and cultural rethinking of

Switzerland after the Second World

War .His estate is in the Swiss Literary Archives .
