CUMBERLANDITE is world renown and was formed over 1.5 Billion years ago when a volcano erupted and 24 different minerals mixed together with molten rock forming a magnetic rock rich in minerals.

CUMBERLANDITE is known as the “Stone of Venus” and is said to be connected with Templar symbolism of the divine female in the heavens, symbolized by the planet Venus.

The rock is an uncommon type known as a troctolite. It is black with phenocrysts of plagioclase in a medium grained matrix of magnetite, ilmenite, olivine and hercynite spinal. The abundance of magnetite and ilmenite, may be responsible for the high density and magnetic property. Locally the parallel orientation of the lath like plagioclase crystals gives the rock a flow lamination. Rock age is uncertain but said to be from Late Proterozoic to Devonian.
