This item iscertified authentic by Todd Mueller and comes with their Certificate 22,1909 – January 3, 1989) was an accomplished AmericanequestrianandB-movieactressof the 1930s and 1940s. O\'Day was born inPrairieHill, Texas. Her father was an official with a railroad. Her firstwork as a professional entertainer was as a vaudeville dancer. She had herfirst screen roles in the 1920s as ateenager.In 1930, she portrayed MaribelleFordyce in the Broadway musicalFine and Dandy.Her first starring role was in 1932 when shestarred inRackety RaxoppositeVictor McLaglenandGreta Nissan. From 1933 through 1940 she starred in nineteenfilms, with only a small number of those beingwestern films. Starting in 1941 she began starring in rolesplacing her as theheroinein westerns, oftenoppositeJohnny Mack Brown,Ray \"Crash\" Corrigan,Max Terhune, andJohn \'Dusty\' King. O\'Day\'sother Broadway credits includedMany Mansions(1937),Onefor the Money(1939), andMany Happy Returns(1945). In1942 she starred as the heroine in severalcliffhangerepisodes ofPerils of the RoyalMounted. In 1943, under contract withRepublic Pictures, she began starring in theThree Mesquiteersfilm series, alongsideBob Steele,Tom TylerandJimmie Dodd. Her last starring western role was in 1943, inthe filmBoss of Rawhide, oppositeDave O\'Brien. She made onemore movie, a non-western, in 1946 when she starred inThe Story ofKenneth W. Randall M.D., but concentrated mostly on writingscreenplaysandstageplays. She spent the rest of her life writing forstage and screen. She died of aheart attackon January 3, 1989, inLos Angeles, California.
