Thingswent well for a time, ASI souvenirs were made and readied for the park. Butsoon evidence that the agreement had serious issues went public. Based onpublished accounts and court filings, shortly after the park opened, Wood andthe Disney’sparted ways. The fate of American Souvenirs Inc. appeared to be much the sameas they filed suit in early 1956 claiming contract problems that began beforethe park even opened.Because of this short-lived relationship, collectorswith an appreciation for the Original Disneyland Park and its \"openingday\" souvenirs, have a key mark by which to date these desirable earlysouvenirs. It\'s a small ASI logo that tells them they have found a very earlyand very collectable bit of history featuring the As pictured on thispage, the ASI mark is a triangular logo or hallmark, shaped in a roundedtriangle much like the Disneyland railroad track and berm that bordered theoriginal Disneyland park. The center of the logo features the letters\"ASI\" for American Souvenirs Inc. cascading down the inside left ofthe triangle. A welcome sight of beauty for those Disneyana Fans who have longsearched for it. (Note: For attribution, relative / chronological datingpurposes, AMERICAN SOUVENIRS, INC. incorporation date was 07/21/1954, thecontract with the Disney brothers was reportedly signed July 24, 1954 and thesuit between ASI and Disney was filed on Monday, March 26, 1956, sometime afterthe parties\' dispute began, some knowledgeablepeople have said that the agreement had, in principle, ended before the parkeven opened giving ASI trademarked merchandise a pre-opening date ofmanufacture by default.)
CONDITIONOverall condition is FINE/ NEAR MINT. Bright and vibrant colors, solid graphics, Eleanore Welborn Art Productions label is intact and clean, \"ASI\" label not present but was produced by them, No chips, no cracks, no repairs, or crazing seen. The ribbon is intact but does show some wear on ends and is in NEAR FINE/FINE condition with typical manufacturing color transfer flea bites seen on areas of the gold banding on interior of graphic and other graphics.
