This 1967 coat's pattern predates the elimination of the second pen slot over right breast pocket and adoption of the ripstop fabric. This pattern would have been the majority worn during some of the most pivotal and testing battles of the Vietnam War. This article has been pretty well preserved aside from some minor snags and a blemish on the rear bottom (see photos). No sign any patches were ever sewn. There is indication that an individual was indeed issued this shirt and it's the stamp under the collar that reads 'B0169'(last photo); this is a way to mark ownership to specific soldier and is usually, from my understanding, their last name initial and last four of social.
