RARE 1/16 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE - GENTLEMAN ORIGINAL SEALS IN BLUE VELVET CASE- The sixteenth plate of this gentleman is super sharp and still retains the original seals; see my listing photo showing the backside of this tiny plate. The gentleman\'s face has been hand tinted. The image resides in a rare blue velvet case, however, please note the front side hinge area is a significant tear and is currently holding by a small portion of the material. The image and case are still extremely rare to find today and would make an amazingaddition to any collection of 19th Century photography. Good luck to my lucky winner.

CONDITION:Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. This plate retains the original seals. The sixteenth plate daguerreotype contains excellent contrast, tonal range and superb sharpness. The gent\'s face received warm toned hand tinting. The case as mentioned above does have a significant tear to the front panel or hinge area, but is still attached. The velvet itself is in fine antique condition as well as the interior and latch system. I will ship this item to the winner by way of Priority Mail.
