Quaint ‘Thomas Bavaria’ Bone Porcelain Decorative Plate:

This beautiful bone china plate, which is hallmarked, features a colorful design of cherries with leaves, was made by Thomas in Bavaria during the early to mid1900s. It is an antique piece that is perfect for all occasions and can be used as a decorative plate. The plate is made of bone china and is a great addition to any collection of decorative plates. The back hallmark is printed and the plate has a glossy finish. Printed on the back the hallmark reads “Thu.-‘E’ over ‘Sevres’ over ‘Bavaria’.

The 6 7/8” diameter plate has great color. The plate shows charming cherries in light red and lavender with green leaves and is trimmed, on the edge, with dark green. It was manufactured in Germany using pottery production techniques. It is from the early 20th century. The piece is perfect for all occasions and can be used as a decorative plate. The plate is not handmade but is an original piece, not a licensed reproduction.

The company name of ‘Thomas Bavaria’ was \'Porzellanfabrik Thomas & Ens\' at the beginning. Later, the company was taken over by the Rosenthal Group. This plate by has a printed hallmark on the back but is not signed. The estimated date of manufacture is 1924-1932. As the name implies, Bavarian Porcelain refers collectively to chinaware & decorative porcelain that is made in Bavaria, Germany.

The condition is excellent, with little, if any, age-appropriate wear. Please see all pictures as they are a part of the description. Please read all measurements as the pictures can be deceiving in relation to size.

Vintage items are seldom perfect. Small scratches, scuffs, nicks, and dents are not only expected but considered desirable as a testament to age. None of which apply here. This is a great item for collectors and enthusiasts of antique porcelain plates.
