This listing is for a Pre-1948 Tzedakah Box that was used for raising funds Tipheret Jerusalem Palestine Tzedakah Box Kollel America.
This Tzedakah Box is marked on one side \"JERUSALEM PALESTINE\" which helps us date it to pre-1948 or before Israeli statehood, but I believe it to be much older. On the front is a mix of Hebrew, Yiddish and English. The English reads \"The American Jewish Charity for the feeble, sick, poor, orphans, widows, and old men of Jerusalem and the Holy Land\". The Hebrew says \"Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess\", \"Eretz Yisrael\" & \"Tzedakah G\'dola\".
On one side it reads in English \"KOLLEL AMERICATipheret Jerusalem in JERUSALEM PALESTINE\" and on the other side it reads \"KOLLEL AMERICATipheret Jerusalem 26 CANAL ST. N.Y.C.\"
This measures 3 1/2\" x 3 1/8\" x 1 3/4\". There are some scratches and rust. Please see the photos formore detail.
