This vintage postcard features a beautiful illustration of the entrance to Abraham Lincoln\'s home, located at the northeast corner of Eighth and Jackson in Springfield, Illinois. The image highlights the well-preserved historical site with detailed steps leading up to the entrance, surrounded by lush greenery. The reverse side provides an informative description of the Lincoln home. It is noted as the only home Abraham Lincoln ever owned, where he lived from 1844 until his move to Washington in 1861. The house was initially built in 1839 by Rev. Charles Dresser and was purchased by Lincoln in 1844 for $1500. Significant additions were made in 1856. The home is filled with many original Lincoln possessions and is open to the public daily from 9 AM to 5 PM.
