Notre-Damede Reimsis a Roman Catholic Cathedralin theReims France. Thecathedral was dedicated to the Virgin Maryand was the traditionallocation for Kings of France coronation. Reims Cathedral is considered to beone of the most important pieces of Gothic architecture. It was severelydamaged during World War I and the church was again restored in the 20thcentury. At the end of the war, it was proposed to keep the cathedral in itsdamaged state as a monument to victims of the war, but this idea was finallyrejected. A major restoration project began in 1919, led by Henri Deneux, chiefarchitect of the service of French historic monuments. The restoration receivedmajor funding from the Rockefeller Foundation, and sometimes made use of moderntechniques and materials, including prefabricated reinforced concrete, tostrengthen the structure. The work was completed, and the cathedral was reopenedin 1938. This is a Post World War I Damaged Cathedral of Notre-Dame of Reims printin antique frame in good condition.
