This is a photograph from my father\'s files...he was in the Army for 21 years. There were approximately 50 photographs in his files when he passed away 20+ years ago. Many have been sold, but these few remain. There were \"mimeographed\" captions on the back, some are readable with enhancement, and some are not. These were publicity photos from post-WWII era Germany to be published in military news. Great for the military buff!! These are 8\" x 10\" photos.
This is a photo of a farewell review for General Clarence R. Heubner. On the back...\"The farewell review was held at the parade grounds of Campbell Barracks. Participating units were, Eucom Honor Guard, 427th, and 33rd, U.S. Army Bands, and three platoon sized units representing the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Heidelberg, Germany\"
The master caption reads: \"European Command farewell ceremonies were held on August 10th, in Heidelberg, in honor of Lt Gen Clarence R. Heubner, retiring Deputy Commander-in-Chief, and Chief of Staff, European Command, and Commanding General, US Army, Europe. Ceremonies included a Bachelor Luncheon, followed by a joint Army, Navy, and Air Force farewell review at Headquarters, European Command. After the review, members of his staff divisions and their wives attended a reception honoring the general and Mrs. Heubner and their daughter, Miss Juliette Huebner. The General and his party then rode through troop-lined streets to Heidelberg railroad station, where a special honor guard was formed; A 15-gun salute was fired as the retiring veteran\'s train departed for Bremerhaven.\"
