This letter is a fun item. F. W. Barnes, the Manager of the Rochester, N.Y. Branch House of the Pope Bicycle Company is proposing a trade - one bicycle for one typewriter. He was mailing their 1896 catalogue to S. C. Tallman of Auburn, N. Y. Pope was a famous maker of bikes back in the 1890\'s. Odd that their Branch Office did not have a typewriter.
