Toshikane Jewelry (commonly known as Toshikane) is an Arita ware jewelry brand that was founded in 1931 in Arita, Saga Prefecture as a manufacturer of obi fasteners. When the Pacific War began, obi fasteners became luxury items and their production was banned, so the company switched to making military insignia. Then, when the war ended, they started making accessories for the occupying forces.
Exports stopped completely in 1985, and the jewel gradually disappeared, becoming a phantom piece.
