Cartoon shows President Wilson at his desk pondering a calendar showing pages for Sunday, Feb. 11 and Feb. 12. Behind the desk stands the ghost of Abraham Lincoln holding a sheet of paper reading: \"Let us have faith that right makes might and in that faith let us to the end dare to do our duty as we understand it. Lincoln.\" In February 1917, Wilson was faced with making the difficult decision as to whether German violations of American neutrality were grounds for taking the United States into World War I. The cartoonist compares Wilson\'s problem with that facing Lincoln when he mobilized the Northern armies to prevent the dissolution of the 8x12 inches.
