Seldom have I seen this type of Polynesian primitiveness in prints other than those of Paul Gauguin who heralded his name to a few textiles in the 40's and 50's...known for his love of Polynesia...his aesthetic is so spot on when it comes to the iconic movement of people in still life prints...it is as if in all that this fabric doesn't move...the things atop seem to move in the way they have been depicted. The images would make some of the most iconic art I can imagine...the beautiful hula girls in all their beauty dancing to the ukulele in a true LUAU FESTIVAL. 15% of the proceeds of this sale will go towards the Maui Humane Society to care for animals hurt...lost and orphaned from their parents.
This offering is for ONE iconic unused unwashed fabric panel...still crisp and in every way brand new...someone many moons ago decided to start making curtains and never finished them...leaving a brand new unused lining on the back. I have 3 of these available for lots of coins...they are rare and prized and worthy of every coin...a lighter weight cotton...smooth and not textured like that of a traditional barkcloth...but with a swank of paternry just the same...in fact even better. A cobalt navy ground with rustic deep dark orange...lemon yellow...lollipop lime...with black and white accents. See the last two pics for the backsides showing how brand new they are...measures 35 inches wide x 32 inches long. Expect flawlessly brand newly fabulous.
