Russian Lacquer Sports Cup or Award. Cup of the 1951. A rare and desirable item for the lacquer miniature collector. Painted by hand. Artist T. Zubkova. ~Zubkova Tamara Ivanovna~ She was born on February 18, 1917 in the village of Deryagino, Vyaznikovsky district, Vladimir province. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1956). Laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR. I.E. Repina (1970). Member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR since 1944. Hereditary painter, daughter of I.I. Zubkov. Learned from my father. In 1933 she graduated from a vocational school, in 1938 - from the Palekh Art School, department of porcelain painting. Teacher - P.D. Bazhenov. In 1938-1940 she worked at the Red Porcelain Factory in the Leningrad Region. Since 1940, she worked in the Association of Palekh Artists (later - the Palekh Art and Production Workshops). She died on November 12, 1973, and was buried in Deryagino. She was engaged in painting on porcelain, monumental painting (The room of fairy tales in the children\'s studio in the city of Shuya (1959), the cinema \"Ruslan\" in the city of Pushkin, Leningrad Region (1971-1972)), theatrical and decorative art (designing the ballet \"The Tale of the Dead Princess\" (1949 ) and the opera \"Kashchei the Immortal\" (1950) for the Leningrad Maly Opera Academic Theater under the direction of N.M. Parilov), restoration (Monplaisir\'s Lacquer Room in Petrodvorets (1955-1959) under the direction of N.M. Zinoviev). Together with N.I. Golikov, she prepared sketches for the cartoon \"Dobrynya Nikitich\" (1965). Subjects of works: folklore, literature, genre scenes, Soviet songs. Participated in exhibitions since 1941. The works of T.I. Zubkova are kept in museums: GMPI, State Russian Museum, VMDPiNI, MNI, ZGIHMZ, Ivanovo OHM, Irkutsk OHM, GMENR.
Size: 9 inches (23cm). The cup is decorated with hot enamels, as on Soviet orders and medals. Bronze. Handmade. Beautiful antique present for sports fans and people who love old things! Good condition. Crackleur... ~Palekh~ Palekh has been famous for its icon painters since pre-Petrine times (along with Mstera and Kholui). Palekh icon painting reached its peak in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The local style was formed under the influence of the Moscow, Novgorod, Stroganov and Yaroslavl schools. In addition to icon painting, the Paleshians were engaged in monumental painting, participating in the painting and restoration of churches and cathedrals. After the revolution of 1917, Palekh artists were forced to look for new forms of realizing their creative potential. In 1918, the artists created the Palekh Art Decorative Artel, which was engaged in painting on wood. The founders of the Palekh style are Ivan Golikov and Alexander Glazunov. Ivan Golikov wrote the first work in the so-called Palekh style. In 1925, Palekh miniatures were exhibited at the World Exhibition in Paris. The Union of Palekh Artists arose in 1932.
