Up for sale is a vintage 1979-80, “Purgatory”, ski brochure trail map. This resort opened in 1965 and changed its name to Durango in the year 2000. Local Durango artist, Paul Folwell did the artwork. Folwell's local fame started long before he made art his full-time profession. He cut some of the original trails when Purgatory opened to skiers in 1965, founded the mountain's ski patrol, and was the mountain manager from 1971 until he retired in 1982 to focus all his energy on art. His legacy remains secure, however, at the local ski area, as his namesake trail, Paul's Park, is one of the most tracked runs on powder days. If you have any questions, please ask!
