PRE CIVIL WAR M1851 GENERAL STAFF OFFICER SHAKO | Pre Civil War US Army Model 1851 General Staff Officer Shako. Dark blue, fine quality wool covered body with black velvet band and gold bullion netted gold acorn pom-pom. The crown is approximately 6.1/4" high and the top is 5.1/2" in diameter. Heavy bullion embroidered Eagle and "US" wrap leaves insignia attached to the front. Leather chinstrap with Eagle side buttons. Thick leather visor without brim. Light brown oilcloth linen & leather sweatband present and in good condition. | Size: 7 | Est. $3000-6000 | Condition: Very good. | Provenance - Collection of Brigadier General Dr. Edward R.
