Barely used, 2024 Otter Messer Hippekniep in XC75 carbon steel with beautiful plum wood scales. This is their new "mid-sized" sodbuster patter at 4.13 inches closed. It's roughly the size of the GEC Bullnose; making it bigger than the Case Sodbuster Jr, but smaller than the large Case Sodbuster or GEC Bullbuster. It's a great addition to the traditional lineup--perfect size.
The knife has outstanding fit and finish. All transitions and pins are perfectly flush. No gaps at all. No blade play. Blade perfectly centered in blade well. Blade nice and thinly ground, full flat ground. Brass liners. Carbon steel backspring. Brass pins. Brass birds eye rivet. Includes all original German packaging.
Plumwood is very tough. It's 1550 lbf on the Janka scale, making it much harder than oak. It has a fine, smooth grain structure and a warm reddish tone.
You won't be disappointed with this one.
