This incredible vase has been part of my Victorian Bird vase collection. I found this locally and have been trying to find more information based on the Rd. No. of 222175 and hand drawn in gold 1494 8. It's stunning for its complicated shape and sculpting, the muted pale pastels, lovely, gilded tree branches and the very well hand painted bird and butterfly. The handle is a branched gilded flower, the sculpted rim still in good shape, lovely gilding with one repair as shown by my pointer in the photographs. The pedestal foot is intact, the paw like feet also intact and gilded. As can be seen there is considerable crazing which to me does not detract. I would draw your attention to the top of the handle and my pointer that shows there is a small sculpt missing which I didn't realize until I had owned it for some time. Vase weighs 3 pounds 6 ounces before packing for shipping. Please review the photographs very carefully and let me know if you have questions.
