Original WWII Axe With Early Canvas Carrier:

Original WWII US Army axe and carrier. The canvas carrier has the brass belt hook which I believe was earlier than 1944. Brass was stopped being used because it was needed for shell casings. The carrier has some holes and lots of writing that I cannot decipher. The axe has not been cleaned except enough to see the markings of US American Fork and Hoe1944. The wood does not have any splits.
