Frank Forte is an artist, writer, and storyboard artist. Inspired by a steady diet of classic cartoons, comics and horror films, Frank Forte continues to explore the realm of disturbed characters that seem trapped in a nightmarish animated world. His most recent series of Neo-Pop paintings incorporate the reappropriation of figures and images we know from the yesteryear of the animated film, comic books, TV, advertising and pop culture as well as introducing Frank?s original characters.

Hellraiseris a 1987 Britishsupernatural horror film[6]written and directed byClive Barker, and produced byChristopher Figg, based on Barker's 1986 novellaThe Hellbound Heart.[1]The film marked Barker's directorial debut.[7]Its plot involves a mysticalpuzzle boxthat summons theCenobites, a group of extra-dimensional,sadomasochisticbeings who cannot differentiate between pain and pleasure. Theleader of the Cenobitesis portrayed byDoug Bradley, and identified in the sequels as "Pinhead".

Hellraiserwas filmed in late 1986. Barker originally wanted the electronic music groupCoilto perform the music for the film, but on insistence from producers, the film was re-scored byChristopher Young. Some of Coil's themes were reworked by Young into the final score.Hellraiserhad its first public showing at thePrince Charles Cinemaon 10 September 1987. The film grossed $14.6 million.

Since its release, the film has divided critics but generally received praise; initial reviews ranged fromMelody Makercalling it the greatest horror film made in Britain, toRoger Ebertdecrying its "bankruptcy of imagination". It was followed bynine sequels, the first seven of which featured Bradley reprising his role as Pinhead. A franchise reboot, also titledHellraiser, was released in 2022.

Clive Barker(born 5 October 1952) is an English novelist, playwright, author, film director, and visual artist who came to prominence in the mid-1980s with a series of short stories, theBooks of Blood, which established him as a leading horror writer. He has since written many novels and other works. His fiction has been adapted into films, notably theHellraiserseries, the first installment of which he also wrote and directed; and theCandymanseries. He was also an executive producer of the filmGods and Monsters, which won anAcademy AwardforBest Adapted Screenplay.

Barker's paintings and illustrations have been shown in galleries in the United States, and have appeared in his books. He has also created characters and series for comic books, and some of his more popular horror stories have been featured in ongoing comics series.
