A Wonderful and unusual Land Patent in that land is Given to a Woman, Named Anna Stouffer, The first laws for Women owning property wasn't until the mid 1800s, Thus, making this land Patent highly unusual. It was signed by Declaration of Independence Signer Thomas McKean, and Penned by Timothy Matlack (Scribe to Thomas Jefferson and the actual person who penned the Declaration of Independence). Also, signed by James Trimble, The First Deputy Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.Thomas McKean(pronounced mc-CANE) (March 19, 1734– June 24, 1817) was an American lawyer, politician, andFounding Father. During theAmerican Revolution, he was aDelawaredelegate to theContinental Congress, where he signed theContinental Association, theUnited States Declaration of Independence, and theArticles of Confederation. McKean served as aPresident of Congress. He was at various times a member of theFederalistand theDemocratic-Republicanparties. McKean served aspresident of Delaware, chief justice of Pennsylvania, and the secondgovernor of Pennsylvania.[1]He also held numerous other public offices.

Timothy Matlack(March 28, 1736 – April 14, 1829) was an American politician, military officer and businessman. A brewer and beer bottler who emerged as a popular and powerful leader in theAmerican Revolutionary War, Matlack served as Secretary of Pennsylvania during the conflict and was a delegate to theSecond Continental Congressin 1780. Matlack was known for his excellent penmanship, and in 1776 was chosen to inscribe the originalUnited States Declaration of Independenceonvellum.[1]

Matlock became one of Pennsylvania's most provocative and influential political figures, but he was removed from office by his political enemies at the end of the war; however, he returned to power in the Jeffersonian era.[2
