A gorgeous salvage or fragment from an 18th century (or earlier) tapestry, a beautiful Aubusson or other woven tapestry - made up now as the top of a quite opulent accent or decorator throw pillow. The pillow is 19 1/2" x 12" so a perfect size for sofa, bed, or as a back support in your favorite chair. The pillow form is rather firm. I did not make this one - I typically use down pillow form, but I do see the value of having a firmer pillow. A pale mustard yellow velvet makes up the border around the tapestry and also the pillow's back. Recently made, but with vintage French passementerie trim, a bright gold metallic trim and a colorful ball-fringed and woven, both of which work wonderfully with the overall design and the palette, as well. Beautiful!

Very good to excellent condition for age and type - speaking of the tapestry used for this pillow. Whatever little restorations have had to be done are done nicely, and not easy to see at all - I don't see any, in fact. It's a great repurposing of a panel made by hands 300-400 years ago. The panel is backed by the velvet, so won't take the stress of use. Some are made up without that fabric backing the tapestry and they do split. A beauty, floral and bow - you can use it in vertical or horizontal orientation. Of course, no odors, and no stains.

Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.
