Each piece is handmade from marbled white onyx. This onyx stone is made of thin layers of different sediments compressed over time. The colors are white, clear, translucent green and a grey sandy looking section in the back of these that makes the bookends imperfectly perfect. It\'s something so spectacular that only nature could do it. Skilled artisans hand carved these, following the movement of the striated lines bringing these one-of-a-kind but very similar bookends to life.

At just over 5 pounds each, these bookends are heavy and large

Due to imperfect nature and age of these pieces, fissures, cracks, chips and holes are to be expected and prized. Original felt replaced. Glue that joins horse heads to bases showing discoloration.
