Vintage oversize chrome color postcard (4.75" x 6.6") showing the reconstructed / repaired dome and wallsof the megalithic stone tomb at Newgrange in Bru na Boinne (the Boyne River valley) of County Meath,Ireland.
Front caption reads,"NEWGRANGEOne of the oldest buildings in the world".
Back caption reads,"NEWGRANGE - Older than Stonehenge and the Pyramids. Amegalithic tomb over 5,000 years old, built by Neolithic people. The topportion of the tomb is constructed from 200,000 tons of stone, and the fine carvingswithin feature the best megalithic art in the world. Furthermore the building is designedin such a way as to allow the sun to illuminate the tomb just once a year,on the 21st December -- winter solstice."
