90 YEAR OLD BEAUTY!

This is another sewing machine from the large, clean-out estate sale where we ended up with 2 dozen ++ sewing machines. Like the rest, this machine was in desperate need of a thorough evaluation, cleaning, and service.

This 15-91, AD797697, has an issue date of December 1934 and has the details and parts of the early 1930s Singer machines -- the style of the upper tensioner, the schoolhouse-style bobbin thread guide, as well as the chrome rimmed balance wheel. These early machines also have the extra decoration on the potted motor cover. This one has \'Trefoil\' decals.

Many, many parts of this machine have been removed, cleaned and reinstalled. We have rebuilt the .6 amp motor, including a thorough cleaning of old grease, rewiring back to the coil, and reassembly. New grease wick and grease have been installed. Machine makes a nice stitch, too!

The light was harvested from another Singer machine of the era. It was cleaned and rewired. A new two-way power cord, bobbin winder tire, and one-hole vintage metal Class 15 bobbin are included. A manual can be downloaded for free from the ismacs.net website.

Body was hand polished and has a few blemishes but overall, very nice decals as pictured. As with anybody or anything 90 years old there are bound to be quirks. Through testing we found that it\'s best to not wind the bobbin too fast, but at a steady speed and guide the thread when necessary. The needle tends to want to move during this operation.
