Up for Consideration is a Rare Original 18th Century Revolutionary War Era English or French Colonial Men\'s Beige & Black Silk Satin Striped Frock Coat
(1750-1780)

Beautiful Men\'s English or French 18th Century (c.1750-80) dark beige, tan and black pin striped Silk Satin Frock Coat, dating from the last quarter of the 18th century. This Coat has all original 21 cloth covered wood buttons or button with 3 button holes on the front and a single metal hook half way up on the inside of the coat. The Buttons are beautiful and measure 1.25 inches each. Both pockets have unbleached cotton lining with a cream satin inner flap lining. It has angled sleeves with flapped cuffs and a 3.6-inch lace fringe. Inside of jacket has a cream satin lining. Quality of the Coat fabric is very beautiful and of very good quality. The condition is good to very good with some minor stitch repairs, soiling and staining, a couple scattered holes and seam splits, soiling and a possible blood stain on the inner lining which has very heavy soiling due to it\'s light color.

Estimated Dimensions: Length: 40 inches / Chest: 38 inches / Waist: 34 inches / Arms: 20.5 inches plus 3.5 inch fringe.
