This piece of Anthracite coal has a shaved surface with the silhouette of a Colliery (coal mining) structure, what is an elevator and a building. This might be from England where much coal was mined and souvenirs made, or it might be from Pennsylvania, USA, a coal mining state. It measures approx 5 1/4\" x 3 3/4\" H x 2 1/2\" D, and weighs approx 1 lb 5 oz. It is intact, with a chip on the upper right edge, a smaller chip on the bottom edge left half, and a fine hairline moving down from the top just off right of center. It is not in threat of splitting or suffering by handling. I believe this is late 19th or early 20th C. CHECK OUT MY OTHER ITEMS.
