First trialed in 2011 MCU took the place of DPM which the NDDF had used since the early 80s. Not fully adopted till 2013 it was shortly lived for only about six years before the NDDF announced to go for a more multicam/MTP inspired pattern sadly. I’ve heard much of what was left after switching was destroyed making this pattern used by the NDDF pretty rare.

This combat shirt is used with only one small hole under the right arm as shown in photo. This is one of the most comfortable and well-made combat shirts I’ve come across. Cry type elbow pad housing. Arms and collar are ripstop while the body and shoulders are a soft stretchy rayon blend. The upper body from mid chest and back and up is mesh like with holes for ventilation. The shoulders and internally padded much like the Spanish tops with build in padding. Strong metal 1/4 zipper front. Velcro adjustable wrists. Double pockets on each arm. Velcro flap pocket and side zippered pocket on both arms. This thing is a true gem that you might not see agin for a while.
