This sale is for an original \"Log of Golden Rod Hiway in Nebraska\" from Nebraska City to Oxford. Not dated but from a quick internet check it appears that the Golden Rod Hi-Way was designated in 1919. One source suggested that the Golden Rod Hi-Way (or parts of it) became Highway 18 and Highway 19 in 1924, so I believe this is from the 1920s. (But it may have still been referred to as the Golden Rod Hi-Way into the 1930s or later) This item measures 6-1/8\" x 12\" and is made of a thin card stock paper. One side lists the directions from town to town from Nebraska City to Oxford, Nebraska. (267.7 miles) And the other side shows the directions from Oxford to Nebraska City. Looking on an online map it looks like much of this highway went along what is now U.S. 136, N-8 and a couple others. Some of the towns on this highway were Auburn, Johnson, Graf, Tecumseh, Vesta, Crab Orchard, Filley, Beatrice, Harbine, Jansen, Fairbury, Reynolds, Hubbel, Chester, Byron, Hardy, Superior, Lester, Red Cloud, Inavale, Franklin, Bloomington, Naponee, Republican City, Alma and Orleans. There are three numbers written in pencil on one side - maybe someone was figuring out the mileage between two towns (between 81 and 45 would have been between Beatrice and Tecumseh). The item is in good used condition - it has three horizontal creases from being folded in quarters (it will be mailed folded in half, as found) - there is light dirt and toning on both sides - there are three numbers written in pencil on one side - there is a small piece (1/4\" x 1/4\") missing from the lower left corner - there is a 2\" diagonal crease in the upper right corner - there are several smaller creases. A NICE PIECE OF GOLDEN ROD HIWAY / NEBRASKA MEMORABILIA THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT FRAMED! Ground Advantage postage is $5.00.
