DESCRIPTION: Aka coral refers to the rare deep water oxblood coral found off of Japan with a flawless surface and intense brightness in its appearance. Today it is harvested with sustainability and regulations designed to maintain the beds. Historically these corals have been among the most valuable in the jewelry trade, the largest specimens being the rarest and most cherished. Aka is the equivalent to Lander Blue in the turquoise world. The fine natural specimen set in Darryl’s solid 18 Karat gold ring is the epitome of the best. It sits in his superb hand chiseled column bezel created laboriously with precision atop his heavy ring shank. The thick shank was created by carving the design in tufa stone and casting it all by hand. Perfection in casting yields a beautiful texture and finish.This ring will be a treasured addition to your collection of the very finest Native American jewelry.
