Lingam or Lingham stones are exclusively found in theHoly Narmada River, which runs through the states of Madhya Pradesh,Maharashtra, Gujarat, leading out into the Arabian Sea in west central India.The stones are legally harvested by few who have been granted the privilege toharvest them once a year during the dry season when the waters are low. Currentdamming projects on the Narmada River create uncertainty of lingams beingpresented in the future making each year’s harvest just a little more special tothose who love and cherish these precious stones.

These sacred stones arecomprised of cryptocrystalline quartz which essentially means that the crystalswithin the stone are unique in that there is no detectable signature crystalstructure, but rather is unorganized and frenzied structure instead. Thebizarre crystal structures are smaller than what the human eye can detect butare nonetheless present and are detectable through a microscope.
