A NNGPM Nederlandsch Nieuw-Guinea Petroleum Maatschappij (which is Dutch for Netherlands New-Guinea Petroleum Company) Grumman G21-A Goose with registration PK-AES and c/n 1008.

This aircraft is also attributed to BPM, the Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij which is Dutch for Batavian Oil Company. It was the Dutch East Indies and later Indonesian subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell company established in 1907.

Finally, according to the handwritten notes on the backside, this aircraft is attributed to the N.V. Mijnbouw Maatschappij Nieuw-Guinea 1938-1939 which is Dutch for New-Guinea Mining Public Limited Company.

According to the Grumman Guide Book, delivery of this aircraft took place in October 1937 to the Asiatic Petroleum Company in New York, also a Shell company and was registered earlier as VH-AAY. The Grumman Guide Book shows the aircraft in the same livery but without a registration (visible). Further according to the handwritten notes on the backside, the colour scheme is that of a 1937 G21-A type of which 12 were delivered. See page 39 of the Grumman Guide Book. This fine photo measures 4 x 9.2 inches or 181 x 238mm. It is sharp and in excellent condition. No corner creases, no folds, bends or tears. Although the photo discoloured a bit there\'s no sepia in this photo.
