Quarter-plate ambrotype photo of two young women, probably sisters. The girl on the left has hand-painted gold highlights on her brooch and chain; the girl on the right is holding a book. There is no photographer or IDs of the sitters, but this was purchased out of a Virginia estate.In a full case, 4.75" x 3.75".

Very good antique condition. A couple of tiny mat abrasions and a few tiny nicks above the girl on the left's head, otherwise in excellent condition. Case is worn with separated but matching covers. This is a clear glass ambrotype with a blank iron sheet in the case behind the image.*** Note: Ambrotype does not fit tightly inside of case and will fall out if not handled with careVisit store.thanatos.net for a large selection of vintage / antique photography.
