Ordered as: Crystal River Ry. #11, Redstone, CO. Built as 0-8-0.
Cancelled and resold to the Central of Georgia Ry. #804, on 11/22/1897.
Rebuilt to 2-8-0 before shipment.
to Gainesville Midland Ry.#804 Gainesville, GA, in 1906.
to Southern Iron & Equipment Co. #973to Mt. Airy & Eastern Ry. #9, on 8/25/1915. Cost $3,400.
Too heavy and returned to Southern Iron & Equipment Co. #1088. on 11/23/1916.1st: Tallahala ,Lumber Co. 3, Tallahala, Miss., 11-23-19162nd: Compania Azucarera Madrazo, S. A. #3, Cuba, in 8/1918.The Mount Airy & Eastern Railway was chartered on May 3, 1899, and the Mount Airy Construction & Manufacturing Company, on May 31, 1899. Both companies were operated as one company with the same officers and books. The road was opened from Mount Airy, NC to Goings, VA, 15.75 miles, on February 1, 1900; extended to Kibler, VA on November 1, 1902. The road was sold under foreclosure on November 15, 1910, and purchased for $20,000 by the Rosslyn Lumber Company of Rosslyn, VA. The sale was confirmed on December 13, 1910. On April 1, 1915, the road was sold to Sidney Bieber of Washington, DC, who continued to operate the company under its original name.
The railroad ceased operation about the spring of 1918. It was sold and reorganized as the Virginia & Mount Airy Railway on February 6, 1920, but apparently not operated by the new company. It was apparently liquidated about 1925.
