The lettuce tureen and stand are reproduced from originals in Chatsworth Castle and have long been favorites in the Mottahedeh line. The highly decorative item is a charming example of the work of early English potteries. Rococo tureens in the shape of fruits, vegetables, or animals were popular in the 18th century.
A favorite with brides, Mottahedeh specializes in luxurious patterns and unique, elegant shapes reproduced from china found in museums and historical societies. The patterns feature complex and vibrant colors and hand-painted gold decoration. The surprisingly fresh and timely pieces look fabulous in contemporary and traditional dining rooms.
