Here is a fabulous vintage female wedding head ornament. The long bead/tassels are connected by a long, narrow woven band and worn so the tassels hang on each side of the head. Early 20th Century

There are four short segmented or coiled Chinese glass beads: two teal/grey and two medium blue. One of the teal/grey beads is broken in one place. The stringing is tight enough that the break does not allow extra movement of the beads and is not very obvious. They are 2 inches long x 3/8 inch diameter

There are six long coiled Chinese glass beads: two teal/grey, two medium blue, one dark blue and one amber. They are 4” long x 3/8” diameter. The dark blue bead and one medium blue bead are broken in 4 places, one medium blue bead is broken in two places. One teal/grey bead is broken in 3 places and one is broken in one place. The amber bead is broken in two places. Again, they are strung tightly enough the breaks are not obvious. They are 4 inches long x 3/8 inch diameter

There are small round Chinese glass beads at the top, in between the short and long coils and below the coils.

The burgundy silk tassels are 24” long.

The connecting strip is 36” long x 1/8” wide and finely woven. The bead/tassel combo is 31.5” long.

These are made by the Jinghua Yao, a non Chinese minority living in South China, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. This piece was acquired in Thailand and was used in ceremonies and festivals.
