You don't see these very often at all! The CDV is in pristine condition. No clipped edges or any alterations. All 3 subjects are wearing their CSA sailor's uniforms while striking some great poses for the camera.

The photographer is Olwell & Gurn out of Mobile, AL. It seems that Olwell had a falling out with Gurn, as the latter's name is crossed out in pencil on verso.

A collection of post-war back marks for this photographer shows none that look like the one found on this image. I believe it to be rare, early production of this Mobile-based studio, besides the extreme uniqueness of the subject matter.
