This is a low grade item. The story will be complete and readable, but the item itself will have low eye appeal and will display major damage. Allowed defects for this grade include: non-story elements such as coupons, ad pages, or Marvel Value Stamps cut or torn out of the book; spine split of up to 2/3 the length of the book; a missing back cover provided the front cover is still attached; severe water damage, residue, mold, or paper deterioration due to oxidation; vertical book-length crease; detached cover or centerfold; writing or other marks on the cover; major tears; discoloration, staining, or brittleness.

September, 1914. McClure's was a popular mass-market magazine. This issue features the 1st chapter of Samuel Merwin's novel of a woman in revolt, "The Honey Bee". Williamson, "A Gentleman's Agreement" by Wallace Irwin, "A Sea of Troubles" by P.G. Wodehouse, "The Last Christian" by George Kibbe Turner, "The $100,000 Salary Man of the Movies" by Edward Mott Woolley, "The Futurist" by George A. Birmingham, and many others. Cover by Clarence Underwood. Interior illustrations by Everett Shinn, Will Foster, May Wilson Preston, Alexander Poponi, Frederick Steele, Graham Cootes, Harvey Dunn, Lucius Hitchcock and R.M.
