\"Chac Mool\" is the name given to a type of pre-Columbian Mesoamerican stone statue. It depicts a human figure in a reclining position with the head up and turned to one side, holding a bowl (of fire or sacrifice) over the stomach. Chac Mool statues are found in various locations from Quintana Roo, Mexico to Guatemala, including in the ancient city of Chichen Itza. No one knows the meaning behind this symbol but many theories abound.
