This item is a pair of preowned, vintage (1995) gold gilded cast resin bookends formed in the shape of magnolia blossoms with intricate detailing of petals and leaves as found in Hollywood Regency period pieces.
**PLEASE NOTE-These are HEAVY!!**
The bookends are in very good to excellent used condition given their age and normal use for nearly 3 decades. The set retains a polished matte patina; the outer faces and bases have aged well with no visible chips or cracks. That said, the book facing sides show some darkened places which appear to be dirty fingerprints, perhaps from when the gilding was completed? I’ve attempted to remove it with a damp cloth to no avail; they are not visible while the bookends are being used.
