From a forgotten box in my office closet (and a Tucson Country Club estate about twenty years ago) is this I believe 1940\'s or so Ming\'s of Honolulu demi parure set of sterling silver \"bamboo\" pin brooch and matching screw back earrings. An icon among Ming\'s well referenced jewelry designs, the original pairing exhibits both appropriate crafting quality and beauty. It would have been a highly appropriate remembrance of some wartime or perhaps just post sojourn at the Pink Palace or another Waikiki landmark memory (well, for those who could afford the indulgence). Read oodles of old style Oahu charm. There is a clear \"MING\'S\" and \"STERLING\" to the back of the brooch. One earring shares the \"MING\'S\" indication, and both have \"STERLING\" on the screw backs. Weight is good for the form at about 36.2 total grams on my portable digital scale - thats 26.8 grams for the brooch and 9.4 grams for the earrings. Condition is quite fine overall with a nice aura of time to the surfaces. Be aware I have avoided every urge to refresh away or \"improve\' upon any natural toning - you want that done, you do it. The back of the brooch shows a tiny tight fissure from the time of making which I\'m mentioning simply so you won\'t. Its pin and its locking clasp work exactly as they should. The earrings have some remnants of the ancient clear lacquer once commonly employed to resist tarnish. Those screw back fittings are ready for duty. I\'m nitpicking for absolute accuracy here, and a look at the pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition - I\'m pretty sure these just sat in a box in that home for five decades before I acquired them. Size of the brooch is about 2 15/16 in. vertical and 1 31/32 in. (read 2 in.) horizontal. Each earring is about 1 in. vertical and 23/32 in. horizontal. If you ever have visited paradise and so far missed your chance, or simply wish a single immediate improvement to the ambiance of each day, these will have great meaning for you
