This rare, slopping neck, amberbottle is an early version of French chemist Charles Marchand’s MARCHAND\'SPEROXIDE OF HYDROGEN (MEDICINAL) NEW YORK.

Born in France in 1848, hediscovered a process to formulate and produce a stable form of hydrogenperoxide. Prior to his work, hydrogen peroxide was an \"unstablecuriosity\" but that all changed when he moved to New York and successfullypatented, marketed and produced his \"peroxide of hydrogen\" in thelate 1800s.

Several bottles of Marchand’speroxide can be found online and at sales, but you will seldom find this 4ozversion: a hand blown, beaded ring collar, with the embossed lettering, MARCHAND\'SPEROXIDE OF HYDROGEN (MEDICINAL) NEW YORK vertically below the horizontal lettering of 4oz.Every other Marchant I have seen has the more traditional horizontal lettering.

The bottle is in very good condition with a small chip in the 4ozlettering. It will be carefully wrapped and promptly mailed USPS at a reduced rate...check it out!
