Over 100,000 people came to the rally calling for a National Martin Luther King Holiday. A major impetus and fund-raiser for the event was the release of STEVIE WONDER'S "HAPPY BIRTHDAY". Both Dr. King and Stevie Wonder are pictured onthe pin. The event started the ball rolling with President Ronald Reagansigning the holiday into law in 1983. The holiday took effect in 1986. This20th Anniversary Mobilization pin was worn in1983.
