Rare MARBLE’S KNIVES 1999 limited edition issue of the super-rare Dall DeWeese Knife, part of the limited run of 1500 serial-numbered knives for the Fred Trost Pracital Sportsman Show to support public TV. Only 1,425 knives of a planned edition of 1,500 were produced.The knife is about 7-5/8″ / 19.5 cm overall; satin-polished blade is about 4″ / 10.2 cm; Blade steel: 52-100B modified carbon hardned to 58-59Rc on the Rockwell scale. The blade is RAZOR-sharp; the tip is intact; the blade is laser-etched with logos and serial number 0523 of 1500. Exotic cocobolo wood handle scales with bass pins; the handle is tight; no cracks or chips. This knife is complete with original Marble\'s leather sheath in mint condition, paper blade protector, and original correctly-labeled “bobcat” retail box. Rare MARBLE’S KNIVES 1999 limited edition issue of the super-rare Dall DeWeese Knife that originally appeared in Marble’s catalogs circa 1902. Marble\'s company was one of the best US makers of hunting knives, axes and other outdoor gear since 1898. Original 1900th DeWeese knives in good grades are worth thousands of dollars now. This specimen was proudly made in Gladstone, Michigan in 1999 as part of the limited run of 1500 serial-numbered knives for the Fred Trost Pracital Sportsman Show to support public television. However, only 1,425 knives of a planned edition of 1,500 were produced because of difficulties with materials.
This Deweese knife limited edition was designed by master knife-maker Mike Stewart when he headed the knife division at Marble’s. Mike designed this knife as more in line with the original Dal DeWeese design than \"DeWeese\" knives produced in the early 2000th that have stainless steel blades and thinner, cheaper handles. Stewart used the dimensions of the original handle which has the choil built into the cocobolo slabs and tang. This substantial handle gives you a better grip and more control. Stewart also eliminated the notches on the top of the blade to differentiate it from the original DeWeese. These notches actually weaken a blade by providing breaking points. The knife is about 7-5/8″ / 19.5 cm overall; satin-polished blade is about 4″ / 10.2 cm; Blade steel: 52-100B modified carbon steel hardned to 58-59Rc on the Rockwell scale. The blade is RAZOR-sharp; the tip is intact; the blade is laser-etched with logos and serial number 0523 of 1500. Exotic cocobolo wood handle scales with bass pins; the handle is tight; no cracks or chips. This knife is in as-made condition, complete with original Marble\'s-marked leather sheath in mint condition, paper blade protector, and original correctly-labeled “bobcat” retail box. This custom Dall DeWeese pattern knife is VERY hard to find in mint condition these days, especially with the original retail packaging included; don\'t miss your chance to add it to your collection!
