This is a fantastic book cover painting by the brilliant painter and artist Kevin Eugene Johnson, done for the cover of Madbond, Book Number 1 in the Sea King Trilogy by Nancy Springer. This is a stunning, large painting, done on thick pressboard, and is signed near the lower right corner. The full size of the piece is approximately 18" by 30". There are some small chips and abrasions out of the board, but it is in overall very good condition and displays nicely. This is an incredible example of Johnson's painted fine illustration artwork from his classic 1980's period, dated 1986 and published as the book cover in 1987.
